The band Dizmas has been around for a few years now getting started way back in 1998. The guys have put out 3 albums (counting this latest), 2 EPs, and were also part of a compilation type release.
I first heard of Dizmas when I reviewed their debut release, On A Search In America, on Credential Recordings in 2005. This time around I get to review the band's debut release on the Forefront Records label.
Their latest release, Dizmas, features five brand new studio recordings from the band along with five classic songs.
This release features a more mature sound from the band. Dizmas' music is guitar driven and filled with steady drumbeats that keeps everything on track. The music found on this release is tight and features well done song arrangements.
The vocal parts really stand out especially the vocal harmonies that are spot on and melt together like soft butter on a nice hot piece of toast.
The song lyrics are intelligently written and filled with the band's signature no compromise faith. The band takes a strong stand for what they believe and that courage has helped to open the door for many people over the years to find faith through the band and their music.
This latest release from Dizmas should cement their place in Christian rock keeping their legion of fans happy while reaching out to some new ones.
